Fest went on without a hitch. Much thanks to the bands, Greg at In The Groove, and Ira for filming all of each set. I will edit this post later with a write up of sorts.

So TLAL tried to take a year long break with the release of TLAL Volume II which was supposed to get pressed at the end of 2012 but it looks like it won’t be in hand until early 2014. The break ended up being a say no to all releases past TLAL100 for all of 2013. It was rough, I said no to some gems. I also very meticulously started planning what 2014 might look like in a perfect situation and have my next year of releases totally packed.
Here is the amazing mega-posting of what is planned. Most of this is in the writing phases for bands so there may be some format/title changes.
Cave State feature ex-Hoy Pinoy staff and put out a much talked about demo in 2013. Lots of buzz around them but listen in and see why, they come to the table with a scathing freshman vinyl release that is both well produced and raw as hell. Reminds me a lot of the Get Destroyed and Sex Prisoner EPs.
Austin Texans bring some more innovate powerviolence. Hailing the skull this time.
Throwing everyone for a loop, TLAL will be releasing its first sludge/doom jam with Boston’s Fistula. Fistula has been active for almost a dozen years and are a perfect mix of sludge and hardcore, slow and fast. The song above is from a previous release.
TLAL is proud to bring you Rabid Pigs. Originally introduced via the netlabel, and soon to be on the TLAL Vol II comp, I feel this band is an underground rager that is going to drop a huge sounding LP. Pissed, straight edge, USHC inspired hardcore/powerviolence. These guys could be Coke Bust’s evil cousin.
You have hopefully heard of WT before, having released a slew of EPs and tapes. Two bass playing powerviolence assault from NY… I can’t wait to see what they drop on a full length. I’m sure there will some noise element to the release.
Jacy Tichy and crew are back again (after their Uniform 7″ and Wrench tape on our label) with somewhere around a projected 25 songs to produce their first full length LP. This one won’t be out until later in 2014. TLAL
Cali hardcore band who came out of nowhere produced my favorite EP of 2013. Mixture of 80’s NY hardcore sound and fast powerviolence/punk sound. Couldn’t be more excited for this.
LAST WORDS play heavy raging Raleigh, NC hardcore. The band has in their ranks ex-STRIPMINES, ex-DEVOUR, and current members of Raleigh’s powerviolence beast ABUSE. Marina’s lyrics are angry and introspective and her vocals will shred through the toughest skin. This is definitely one of a few of my favorite NC bands ever. Possible limited DVD-R with the limited edition and every copy comes with a digital download.
ALSO, due to pressing errors on my part and the need to recoup some of the extra plating costs, I’m selling test presses starting tomorrow (Saturday the 23rd) at 10AM EST (or somewhere around then) to try to make some of that money back. There will be the second rejected test press batch, the approve test press batch, and two semi-expensive lots that include ever version of this record (1st rejected test press, 2nd rejected test press, approved test press, white vinyl copy w/ DVD-R, and split color vinyl). Stay tuned in the AM!
iTunes/digital only geeks, digital will go on sale on Tuesday the 26th.
Sort of burned out and backed up, need a break before xmas orders. Need to organize a few represses too. Webstore going offline tomorrow around 6pm or so tomorrow for up to two weeks, maybe less.
Small show for a fest but I think it will do just right. Better flier to come.

Lots of TLALove here, make sure to catch ACxDC, BearTrap, Cheap Art, and Torch Runner.
If there is anything good in the world to be hopeful about, ABUSE. quickly bring you back to reality with seventeen of the angriest and most depressing powerviolence tracks that you will be able to stand. The band melds classic NO COMMENT/INFEST/NEANDERTHAL sound with some hardcore undertones and have really stepped up the production value since their initial releases. Still raw as hell sounding, this LP was recorded with Kris Hilbert at Legitimate Business who brought out the band’s sheer heaviness out on each track. If you are looking to be uplifted, don’t look to this record. If you have had the worst day ever and you want to listen to the aural equivalent of Nietzsche, then you will have a winner with this record. Hope is the most evil of evils, and ABUSE. says you’re fucked. Clear green limited to 100 copies, split color limited to 400.
If you are not convinced yet, go to Cvlt Nation for a full stream and great review.
SUPPRESSION are hot off splits with DAHMER, ENEMY SOIL, GRIEF, DESPISE YOU, BENUMB on labels such as SLAP A HAM and BOVINE… wait, no they aren’t, those releases were 20 from years ago… RVA’s SUPPRESSION are back after being an inactive noise group for a number of years to take the reigns back on to their powerviolence purebread. This time back they have taken almost a bass-fueled mutant of LIGHTNING BOLT approach to powerviolence. On the flipside another 90’s powerviolence powerhouse brings you brand new 2013 tracks of bass, drums, noise, and anger. Both bands have taken and warped your views of what can be done when pissed off kids of the 90’s grow up and become pissed off men. Limited to 100 on clear green vinyl, 100 on orange vinyl, and 300 on mixed vinyl. Limited red shirts available too.
Heavier, faster, and noisier than ever, Seasick’s first and final LP, Eschaton, finally sees the light of day after three years in purgatory. Filtering New York hardcore, West Coast speed, and breakdowns straight out of Boston through Japanese d-beat, Eschaton is Sheer Terror covering Gauze covering SSD covering Infest. Held together by oppressive levels of distortion, feedback, and negativity, Eschaton blends the band’s former psychedelic version of Rock for Light with heavier than thou hardcore, caveman drum beats, and the guttural intensity of Framtid, Brain Killer, and Kromosom. Eschaton defines Seasick, their five years as a band, and the type of music they always wanted to make: uncompromisingly hopeless, pure hardcore punk. ONLY 120 on white and 220 on black vinyl available. Covers are on recycled cardboard to keep it green.
