Lots of TLALove here, make sure to catch ACxDC, BearTrap, Cheap Art, and Torch Runner.
If there is anything good in the world to be hopeful about, ABUSE. quickly bring you back to reality with seventeen of the angriest and most depressing powerviolence tracks that you will be able to stand. The band melds classic NO COMMENT/INFEST/NEANDERTHAL sound with some hardcore undertones and have really stepped up the production value since their initial releases. Still raw as hell sounding, this LP was recorded with Kris Hilbert at Legitimate Business who brought out the band’s sheer heaviness out on each track. If you are looking to be uplifted, don’t look to this record. If you have had the worst day ever and you want to listen to the aural equivalent of Nietzsche, then you will have a winner with this record. Hope is the most evil of evils, and ABUSE. says you’re fucked. Clear green limited to 100 copies, split color limited to 400.
If you are not convinced yet, go to Cvlt Nation for a full stream and great review.
SUPPRESSION are hot off splits with DAHMER, ENEMY SOIL, GRIEF, DESPISE YOU, BENUMB on labels such as SLAP A HAM and BOVINE… wait, no they aren’t, those releases were 20 from years ago… RVA’s SUPPRESSION are back after being an inactive noise group for a number of years to take the reigns back on to their powerviolence purebread. This time back they have taken almost a bass-fueled mutant of LIGHTNING BOLT approach to powerviolence. On the flipside another 90’s powerviolence powerhouse brings you brand new 2013 tracks of bass, drums, noise, and anger. Both bands have taken and warped your views of what can be done when pissed off kids of the 90’s grow up and become pissed off men. Limited to 100 on clear green vinyl, 100 on orange vinyl, and 300 on mixed vinyl. Limited red shirts available too.
Heavier, faster, and noisier than ever, Seasick’s first and final LP, Eschaton, finally sees the light of day after three years in purgatory. Filtering New York hardcore, West Coast speed, and breakdowns straight out of Boston through Japanese d-beat, Eschaton is Sheer Terror covering Gauze covering SSD covering Infest. Held together by oppressive levels of distortion, feedback, and negativity, Eschaton blends the band’s former psychedelic version of Rock for Light with heavier than thou hardcore, caveman drum beats, and the guttural intensity of Framtid, Brain Killer, and Kromosom. Eschaton defines Seasick, their five years as a band, and the type of music they always wanted to make: uncompromisingly hopeless, pure hardcore punk. ONLY 120 on white and 220 on black vinyl available. Covers are on recycled cardboard to keep it green.
Sex Prisoner – s/t EP
Third and final pressing of 500 of this monstrous beast of an 7″. After these are gone, tough luck. I have a few blue copies left.
ACxDC / Magnum Force / Sex Prisoner – split 10″
A few pressing plant delays, but for good reason. I asked the plant to do something they couldn’t easily do, and it came out amazing. 150 copies on splatter vinyl with no b-side labels really make the etched b-side pop. 250 on white vinyl. You were jealous of your friend for getting a copy of this when the first pressing sold out, now you is your chance to get a copy. Not expected to last long as the first pressing of 600 sold in two weeks. Limited shirts available too!
Coming soon: Curmudgeon – s/t EP repress
200 gray vinyl repressed for their December tour. Available soon.
Rough month over here at TLAL, Rape Revenge has called it quits. Rape Revenge was a pro-vegan straight edge band that embodied feminism and queer values. I hope the members continue to make music as they are all talented and quite young.
I feel like I need to lighten the mood and post some positive things to look forward to, here are some glimpses of whats coming up at the TLAL HQ.

and a really positive in Decibel Magazine is cool too:

also check out this Sex Prisoner set from MF’s final show…
Had the plant overnight 30 test presses just in time for Abuse.’s possibly last show of the year. Normal pressing out November/December 2013, keep an eye out for the limited green vinyl.
