TLAL Artguy on tour with Circle Takes The Square

I know I used the above image for him before, but go saw wassup to the fella and some raging screamo jams. He will be selling their merch, and may have the first new TLAL patches for sale and some TLAL shtuffs too. I told him I’d get people to tell him a secret codeword, I can’t think of a particularly funny one so you should go up to him and say ‘glockenspiel’. Just like, only that. When he says “what?” just be like “glockenspiel” I think he’d find that hilarious. He should also have all these cool Twin Peaks/XVX patches with him, and if you can’t make it out.. by them online and mention TLAL if you want to be cool… Retirement Fun on Etsy.

Out Now: P.L.F. – Pulverizing Lethal Force CD

Repress of the long out of print first album by this Speed Trials crowned champion. Pulverizing old-school Texan grindcore assault with a twinge of thrash metal. Seventeen hyper-fast and aggressive tunes with no metal contamination, just pure straight thrash metal grind. Recommended to the thrashers and straight grind bangers! Featuring an ex-member of INSECT WARFARE, RACE AGAINST TIME, KNUCKLESCRAPER, and REASON OF INSANITY! Repressed CD contains updated cover art.

P.S. This is one of my favorite grindcore records ever and I’m honored to have helped put this out again!

Deathrats review in MRR #341

Got quite a few good reviews in MRR this month but here is the amazing glowing one:

DEATHRATS – “Give Up” EP. Woooo! Somebody is pissed… and it’s DEATHRATS. Expanding and, dare I say, improving upon the legacy that is DC hardcore, this four piece rips through six angry, fast, dark, feedback laden noisy tracks with some breakdowns here and there. I have to say that this is some creative writing. It’s very recognizable HC in the DEATHREAT with a more classic USHC leaning and some hints of Scandi HC, yet there are cohesive changes that sound neither too busy or choppy, at least not in an unintended way. The songs meld together (which will be a pain in my ass when I play this on the radio), leading into one another quite well bringing attention to the fact that even though each track is unique, every song on here belongs on this record. I can see this band playing with RAW NERVE and other awesome creative, non “mysterious” HC that has been springing up. I have to say that I have been into this band since the first song I head by them and I really loath the comparisons they get because they have a female singer. Or that bullshit like, “DEATHRATS are like SICKFIX and PUNCH cuz they are the only good HC bands with women in them.” One, SICKFIX does rule, two, this band is better than PUNCH and three, you fuckers are missing the point… This is what good hardcore sounds like, female vox and all. The lyrics are personal, angry and a big “fuck you.” The style is mostly throaty, frantic and tough sounding shit, but then there are spoken, almost talking in pitch, parts here that add to the music. If this were a dude screamin’, Youth Attack would have eaten this shit up. These are good vocals, lady or not, because they are another instrument that belongs with the music – no dude can match ’em. Get it. (MB) (To Live A Lie)

Out Now: Archagathus – Canadian Horse LP & Get Destroyed – Shut In EP & TLAL koozies

Amped up Canadian mincecore, ARCHAGATHUS deliver their full throttle, fully packaged full length. Full color design, this is completely aerodynamic and ahead of its time, and comes with both a huge full color poster and a download business card to make sure you can be cruising around listening to the newest and fastest tunes. This puppy reaches speeds of up to 18 songs in 25 minutes. Guest vocals by Seb of DAHMER fame. This is no record for just a grindcore record completest, this will easily fill the beginning extreme music nerd’s mind with horses, crossed out music notes, and utter mind confusion. For fans of: Canada, horses, and Fabio. (18″x24″ poster also available separately).

Back from the ashes, GET DESTROYED! drop their third EP of brutal fastcore – their best yet. Pummeling contrasts between short blasts and hammer-crushing slow parts, GxDx are veterans of this style and never fail to devastate. Fans of early HATRED SURGE and CROSSED OUT take note. Special guest vocals from Grace Perry of LANDMINE MARATHON.

Random color koozie. Can sized. If you prefer a color, I’ll try to grab you a specific color, red, blue, green.

Get Destroyed! – Shut In

Out Soon: Lapse / Eddie Brock – split 7″
