Three new North Carolina bands on the netlabel

Lung Matter

Raleigh’s newest hardcore punk throwback jams. Wicked fast jams, features Mike from Sic Sensation on guitar, Jeff from Stripmines on bass, good dude Trevor singing, and Connor on drums. Reminds me a little of ETA meets Blank Stare meets something else. I’m bad at descriptions! Recording was done as one take.

Mad Dog

Sloppy fast punk/pv jams. Reminds me a lot of the band Burma that was from here. Glad to see this band existing, younger folks and when I saw them they had some mad Despise You/ACxDC patches.

Nö Pöwer

New band from Charlotte. Really want to see them. Reminds me of Disclose or D-Clone.

Netlabel now on Bandcamp

Wow this took eight hours of my life to manually upload everything… worthy of posting.

Out Now: Capitalist Casualties/No Comply – split and Mind As Prison EP

Capitalist Casualties/No Comply – split 7″

Think of the most amazing powerviolence splits of the past… Crossed Out / Man Is The Bastard, Infest / PHC, Agents of Satan / No Less, Godstomper / Short Hate Temper, Spazz / Charles Bronson, Assholeparade / Ansojuan…just to get your mind going. The power of the split record and smushing two of the best bands of a genre onto one record is so amazing. This split right here should have been thrown together in the 90’s, and I should still be a pre-teen, but somehow it is 2011 and I convinced two of my favorite bands to put together a crushing split. Capitalist Casualties dug deep in the vaults to find a crisp sound board recording from 1994. The recording was taken and cleaned up off the original tape and mixed down. Sort of like Live in Nagoya but with their OG lineup. In fact, this is the same set, different songs, from the Live Butchery EP that is completely impossible to find. No Comply material is an equally amazing time capsule of music. Their recordings were pulled off a long lost DAT tape that Justin found while pulling material together for a potential NxCx discography. The material was literally forgotten about and it happens to be an old studio recording of material that was going to be for a split with Charles Bronson on 625 Thrashcore in 1997. The icing on this cake is that Travis Ginn from Assholeparade makes an appearance splitting vocals on all but one of NxCx’s tracks. Both sides provide 90’s powerviolence as played in the 90’s for all obvious reasons. This is both a powerviolence DeLorean ride and something both bands are exceptionally proud of to this day. Layout is a pilled up theme excecuted by yours truely, Will Butler. Limited copies of pill bottle orange records available. Record comes with DIY digital download card for 320KBPS MP3s of each side.

Mind As Prison – Maryland Grindcore 7″

There is something powerful in the water in the area in and abouve our state’s capital. That power has seeped out and created some mutant musicians who play grindcore more insane than any others. First it spawned Magrudergrind, then it birthed Triac, then there was A Warm Gun, following later was Disciples of Christ… and finally from the goo of infernal blasterdom came Mind As Prison. MAP plays masterful Baltimore grindcore. Superior blasting, raw classic metal chops thrown in on top of a huge wall of noise. Imagine P.L.F. if they got all raged out on Death and Nasum. Still having trouble believing this record exists? Like the jaded Toxic Avenger of grindcore, they will knock you out with the mop of blasting justice. They simply won’t waste your time.

TLAL Artguy on tour with Circle Takes The Square

I know I used the above image for him before, but go saw wassup to the fella and some raging screamo jams. He will be selling their merch, and may have the first new TLAL patches for sale and some TLAL shtuffs too. I told him I’d get people to tell him a secret codeword, I can’t think of a particularly funny one so you should go up to him and say ‘glockenspiel’. Just like, only that. When he says “what?” just be like “glockenspiel” I think he’d find that hilarious. He should also have all these cool Twin Peaks/XVX patches with him, and if you can’t make it out.. by them online and mention TLAL if you want to be cool… Retirement Fun on Etsy.
